Over the years, I have always laughed at carpet cleaning chemistry.  Yes, there is science in carpet cleaning! 🙂  However, it is amazing that many manufacturers and distributors expect the professional carpet cleaner’s van to be a mobile chemistry lab.  Think about it; how many vans out there are loaded with tons of different cleaning chemical products?  Manufacturers/distributors push one product for this and one product for that.  Before you know it, you have purchased 10 different products and you still don’t know exactly why and when you need them!  You almost need to be a licensed chemist to play with all the different products on your truck.

To add to the confusion, training classes had you do burn tests, pH level tests, etc.  Why…. because they need you to purchase multiple products.  They need to show you a way to justify the 10 products they just sold you.  If a low pH, then use this product.  If a certain type of fiber, then use this product.  If food stains, use this other product.  My head is already spinning!
