Every professional carpet cleaning business should do it. However, with the busy lifestyle of running a business, this unfortunately gets lost in the shuffle. I am talking about yearly reminders.
Every customer should get a reminder showing that it has been a year since their last cleaning. This reminder should include some sort of special, so the customer acts now. The reminder should also include a reason why the customer should upkeep their carpet & furnishings every year (ie. Remove dirt and oils that could lead to premature wear, etc.). The reminder could be a simple postcard, a more personalized letter, or even an email. If you are low tech and don’t have a good computer system to give you reports for a one year notice, you can even have pre-printed postcards and hand write the customer’s address at the end of each business day. Take these postcards and drop them into a monthly bucket. So, if it is July, drop the postcard in the July bucket. This way, you can mail all the July bucket postcards next year before the month of July. Your system can be as simple or advanced as you want it to be. Just make it happen!
Businesses that are consistent with yearly reminders will see an increase in repeat work year after year. After all, it took marketing to get the customer. Why not help keep the customer with simple reminder marketing?
