Ever wonder how to grow your business without any risk? The answer to this is simple: have customers lined up for your new services before you even start.
Customer surveys are a good way to line up a customer base for the new services you are thinking about offering. For example, let’s assume you are looking at adding air duct cleaning to your businesses. However, you are unsure about investing a few thousand dollars into new equipment without knowing whether this new service add-on would be worth it. Here is a simple way to see. Write up a quick letter stating that you are investigating adding air duct & dryer vent cleaning services to your business. Ask a question asking the customer if this is something they would be interested in. Maybe have a few choice options such as: Very Interested, Somewhat interested, Not Interested, Unsure. You can go even further and ask questions like: Have you ever had your air ducts cleaned? When do you plan on getting your air ducts cleaned? Have answer choices for each of your questions. Give this survey to every one of your customers when cleaning their carpets, furniture, etc. Collect the survey when you finish the job. Do this for a month or so. Now, sort the results.
You will probably notice that you have a good amount of “interested” customers. Now, you have a starter list for your new service add-on. You can now purchase air duct cleaning equipment (Notice our SpinVax 1000XT Professional Air Duct & Dryer Vent Cleaning System), and immediately contact these customers letting them know that you now offer this service. Tell the customers that filled out your survey that they helped you make the decision to offer this service, and to thank them, you are offering a 10% off discount if they book their appointment.
It doesn’t take long to profit from your investment. 15 or so jobs, and you are profitable! Or, you can even finance the SpinVax 1000XT system to break your payments out over a year, and around 1 job a month pays for your monthly payment!
Many professional cleaners have hesitations about adding new services. However, let your customers dictate this for you. If they demand it, offer it!
